How Long Does Body Contouring Last?

Even those who lead a healthy lifestyle struggle with areas of stubborn fat that refuse to budge. If your efforts have not convinced this unwelcome fat to move along, non-surgical body contouring with truSculpt® iD can help. This effective treatment removes targeted areas of resistant fat to help you achieve the slimmer, more sculpted figure you have worked for.

What is Body Contouring With truSculpt® iD?

Non-invasive body contouring has grown in popularity as more and more people discover this effective way to target stubborn fat. While liposuction is well-known as a surgical method of fat removal, it requires the discomfort, recovery time, and risks of an invasive procedure. Body contouring with truSculpt® iD removes unwanted fat without incisions to shape and sculpt your figure in areas such as the abdomen, waistline, and thighs.

How Does Body Contouring with truSculpt® iD Work?

Fat removal with truSculpt® iD uses radiofrequency energy that travels through the skin without harming it and targets layers of fat. The fat cells absorb the radiofrequency energy, causing them to break apart. Fat cells do not feel anything, so this process is not uncomfortable. However, your body recognizes the damaged cells and begins to filter them away via the lymphatic system.

Unlike other forms of body contouring, the radiofrequency energy used by truSculpt® iD has the added benefit of tightening your skin. The heat causes collagen fibers in your skin to tighten, providing lift and firming. This extra firming helps the treated area look even more sculpted than fat removal alone. This benefit makes truSculpt® iD an effective way to achieve your shapely contours and avoid the skin laxity that can follow fat removal.

How Long Does Body Contouring Last?

Non-invasive body contouring takes advantage of the fact that the adult body does not regrow fat cells. Your truSculpt® iD results can last for a lifetime, especially if you maintain a healthy lifestyle. The fat cells remaining in the area can still change in size if your weight changes significantly. However, removing fat cells changes your body’s overall fat distribution, meaning that even if your weight changes, the treated area will often look better than it would have otherwise.

While people who are close to their goal body weight will see the most dramatic truSculpt® iD results, those with a higher BMI can also enjoy the benefits. In all cases, fat removal is long-lasting as long as you maintain a stable weight. Even if your weight does increase in the future, the treated area will have fewer fat cells available to grow in size.

Is There Any Downtime After Body Contouring?

One advantage of non-surgical body sculpting is the lack of recovery time. Your truSculpt® iD treatment can take as little as fifteen minutes, and you can return to your usual activities afterward without downtime. Your skin may look flushed for an hour or two after treatment, but most people experience no other effects. Unlike treatments that use cold to achieve their results, truSculpt® iD does not cause side effects such as numbness.

Am I a Good Candidate for truSculpt® iD?

Almost anyone can enjoy the benefits of truSculpt® iD. This treatment is safe for all skin types and tones, and anyone over 18 may be a good candidate. Ideal candidates want to target pockets of stubborn fat and have reasonable expectations. We find that the radiofrequency energy used by truSculpt® iD penetrates more deeply into the fat layers and may provide better results for those with more body fat.

Candidates should understand that while truSculpt® iD does remove fat, it should not be used as a weight loss tool and is not designed to decrease your body weight. You should not have this treatment in areas with an active skin condition or infection, and people with certain medical conditions may not be good candidates.

Is truSculpt® iD Better Than CoolSculpting®?

If you have investigated body contouring, you have probably heard of Coolsculpting®. This body contouring treatment damages fat cells by freezing them. While both are effective in removing fat, truSculpt® iD has several advantages, including its ability to tighten the skin. The truSculpt® iD applicators also fit more body areas and types than CoolSculpting® to more effectively target your problem areas, no matter how large or small.

Can Body Contouring Treat Cellulite?

Part of cellulite comes from accumulated fat, but it also results from dimpled skin and other factors. While fat removal alone will not treat cellulite, Premier Vein & Body offers Sculpt™ to treat this frustrating condition. It works using microwave energy that targets fat cells and firms the skin to address problem areas like the thighs and buttocks.
