Treat your acne and reclaim your confidence.

What is Acne?

Acne occurs when your hair follicles become blocked with debris, dead skin cells, and excess oil from your sebaceous glands. These clogged follicles can become an environment for inflammatory bacteria that take up residence as red, painful blemishes. Acne affects many people through their teenage years and beyond, and it often leaves scars. Fortunately, recent advances in acne treatment have made managing this condition easier than ever before.

What Causes Acne?

On a basic level, acne results from excess oil production. Many factors can affect the amount of oil the sebaceous glands produce. Your acne probably results from a combination of these factors, which include:

  • Certain foods, including processed carbohydrates
  • Stress, which makes acne likely to appear before an important event
  • Skin and hair products that contain oils
  • Hormonal changes
  • Genetics
  • Certain medications

Scrubbing your face too much or treating it with harsh chemicals can irritate and dry the skin. As a result, your skin may react by producing even more oil and making acne worse.

How is Acne Treated?

In the past, acne management ranged from topical treatments to oral antibiotics and medications. The FDA has recently cleared an alternative to laser treatment that offers significant acne reduction. This treatment may be used alone or in combination with your current routine.

Tixel®

Tixel® is a minimally invasive, non-ablative skin resurfacing treatment that can effectively treat acne and acne scars. It works by using thermo-mechanical energy to create tiny microchannels in the skin, which stimulates collagen production and cell renewal. This helps to reduce inflammation, clear clogged pores, and improve the overall appearance of the skin.

How are Acne Scars Treated?

Acne breakouts come and go, but they can leave hard-to-treat scars, redness, and hyperpigmentation. Premier Vein & Body by Schwartz offers a range of treatments to address different types of acne scarring and pigmentation changes

Opus Plasma™

This form of fractional skin resurfacing can remove acne scars, smooth skin texture, and improve skin tone. As a fractional laser, Opus Plasma™ creates tiny areas of micro-damage that trigger skin renewal.

Forever Young™ BBL

This treatment uses highly effective BroadBand Light (BBL) to target pigmentation issues and signs of aging. It can greatly improve the appearance of brown or red pigmentation resulting from acne breakouts.

MIRApeel™

MIRApeel™ uses a combination of microneedling, dermabrasion, and targeted serums to rejuvenate the skin. It can help reduce acne breakouts and reduce the appearance of acne scars and rough texture.

Carbon Laser Peel (Hollywood Peel)

Tapping into the power of the PicoSure laser, a natural carbon cream is first applied and allowed to dry on your skin. This soothing mask quickly absorbs impurities, oils, and dead skin cells while bringing toxins to the surface. The PicoSure laser reacts to the dark gray-brown-black color using a 1064nm ND:Yag energy with high melanin absorption to remove the impurities, including acne-causing bacteria. The energy absorbs the carbon mask and all the impurities, leaving your skin radiant, clear, and touchably soft.

What Results Will I See With Acne Treatment?

AviClear™ is quickly becoming a preferred acne treatment because it produces lasting results after a series of 3 treatments. The manufacturer reports that over 80% of people see at least a 50% reduction in acne. For most people, these results are still active six months after treatment. Breakouts happen less often, and when they do happen, they are less intense and cause less skin damage.

Am I a Good Candidate for Acne Treatment?

People with mild to severe acne make good candidates for treatment with AviClear™. Most people also make good candidates for acne scar treatment. AviClear™ is safe for all skin types and tones. You may have a combination of AviClear™ to control your acne and other treatments to fade existing scars.
