BBL vs IPL Photofacial Treatments

IPL stands for Intense Pulsed Light, while BBL stands for Broad Band Light. Both work by directing light energy into the skin, which is then converted to heat as it reaches its target. The target can be the pigment in the skin, redness of blood vessels or even bacteria causing acne. Once the heat energy hits the target, it is absorbed and then damages the tissue, causing destruction and eventual elimination of the target from the skin. The healing response produces healthy collagen and elastin, and the skin is then restored to its healthy and natural condition. BBL is a more accurate and specific treatment method compared to IPL. Its superior safety and efficacy in treating patients with darker skin types set it apart from any other pulsed light therapy on the market. There is a much lower risk of complications and downtime with BBL, and a fewer number of treatments are needed to achieve similar results. BBL is the latest and most advanced technology in light therapy for treating conditions associated with aging and pigmentation irregularities, with little to no downtime and exceptional long term benefits. The most exciting advancement that was introduced with BBL was the treatment of acne. With a combination of settings, problematic acne can be attacked from a number of angles, giving clients phenomenal and fast results. Recovery after Forever Young BBL™

After treatment, patients leave with a mild red, flushed appearance, which resolves within a few hours. For pigmented skin, the treated pigmented area will darken, fade and then flake off over time, typically within 1 to 2 weeks. Patients also report minimal discomfort with the procedure and there is no recovery or downtime required. Extensive studies and research have proven that regular BBL treatments not only prevent cellular aging but also turn back the clock, causing the DNA expression of skin cells to reverse back to a youthful, healthy state, literally reversing the aging process. Typically a series of 3-4 treatments spaced several weeks apart are required for full correction, although additional treatments may be required for cases of rosacea and vascular sun damage.
