What is Melasma and How Can I Treat It?

Melasma is a pigmentation disorder that can cause brown or gray patches to appear on your skin. It is a common condition that often arises on the face, particularly on the forehead, bridge of the nose, cheeks, and upper lip.

PicoSure Laser and Melasma Treatment?

Traditionally, conventional treatment has used broad-spectrum photo protection, followed by topical compounds, peels and laser therapy. Although phototherapy and laser therapy are effective for an initial period, often the melasma returns, along with some hypo and hyper-pigmentation (PIH), which is caused by too much heat or thermal energy in the skin surrounding the treated area.

While traditional laser treatments may make melasma worse, PicoSure laser treatments can significantly improve the condition.
