Fatty deposits and cellulite are very real problems for millions of Americans. The buttock, hip, and thigh area can seem to be forever plagued by pockets of fat and dimply “cottage cheese” skin that no amount of diet or exercise can do away with. Thankfully, laser liposuction, also known as laser lipo, can help.
Laser liposuction is a state-of-the-art approach to surgical body contouring. Dr. Schwartz uses the FDA-approved ProLipo™ laser lipo system, which is less invasive than traditional liposuction, offering a faster recovery with less pain, swelling, or bruising.
Laser lipo is best suited for small, isolated pockets of fat, so it is ideal for candidates within ten to twenty-five pounds of their ideal body weight. It is also often used for precision body contouring on bodybuilders in the arms, abdomen, and chest area.
Laser lipo uses laser thermal energy to reduce fat cells. Once the fat has been liquefied they’re then drained from the body by being gently suctioned away. In addition, the laser energy of ProLipo™ provides for the best skin tightening component available to help contract and smooth your skin, avoiding the lax or loose skin commonly associated with traditional liposuction. Laser lipo offers the same contouring and visual improvement of traditional liposuction, but with greater precision, leaving nerves and blood vessels intact. The laser energy ruptures fat cells, which are then sucked away, resulting in lost inches and more slender body shape.*
For fat reduction and precise sculpting, Dr. Schwartz will often combine the use of Laser lipo along with Tickle lipo.
Although there may be post-procedure swelling, most patients see the majority of their ultimate liposuction results within one to three months after surgery. Once the fat is excavated in the treated area it should not return or migrate to other parts of the body, provided the patient maintains a healthy diet and lifestyle. If you experience weight gain or loss, it should be evenly distributed over your entire body, but fat accumulation in a previously treated area is typically less proportionate than in untreated areas. Laser Lipo patients also report that the skin in the treated area feels tighter and firmer.*
Most patients can return to their normal activities 2-4 days after their treatment. It’s suggested you avoid vigorous exercise for 3 weeks following treatment. Dr. Schwartz will discuss your post-op care with you prior to your surgery date.
