Your face is often what people first notice about you. Unfortunately, it’s it can also quickly give away your age. Years of unprotected sun exposure, harsh cleansers and the process of aging can leave your skin looking discolored and wrinkled.

The Forever Young BBL™ photofacial is one of the most effective non-surgical anti-aging treatments available that does not involve the discomfort and downtime of the more powerful ablative and non-ablative laser treatments.  BBL treats the most common visible signs of sun damage and aging, such as redness, hyperpigmentation and fine lines and wrinkles. However, what sets the Forever Young BBL™ treatment apart from others is its ability to treat underlying layers of patient’s skin where we see the most aging occur. This treatment is the only device that accurately targets the expression of skin molecules associated with aging, stimulating your body’s natural ability to regenerate healthy, new skin.

Most Individuals are Candidates for a Photo Facial

The trend for patients seeking non-invasive treatments for a clearer, smoother complexion and an improvement in skin firmness, elasticity and pigmentation continue to rise – for both men and women.  And since the technology of the Forever Young BBL™ treatment sin is customizable for all skin types, almost anyone is a candidate, including those with darker skin!  BBL is a safe, effective approach to younger and healthier looking skin. Because it is a gentler treatment, a series of 3-4 photo facials is generally required for optimal results.

Forever Young BBL™ Photo Facial Overview

During this short in-office treatment, the Forever Young BBL™ system uses infrared invisible light technology to provide visible complexion improvements to the top layers of skin, while working below in the dermis to revitalize old skin cells at the molecular level. Unlike older lasers, this technology can treat virtually any area on the body, including the face, neck, chest, arms and hands. After a recommended series of treatments, our patients see significant age-defying results and a clearer, more even complexion.

We recommend Forever Young BBL™ for the following signs of sun damage and aging:

  • Sun Spots
  • Age Spots
  • Fine Lines
  • Rosacea
  • Acne
  • Skin Firmness, Elasticity and Tone

BBL vs IPL Photofacial Treatments

IPL stands for Intense Pulsed Light, while BBL stands for Broad Band Light.  Both work by directing light energy into the skin, which is then converted to heat as it reaches its target.  The target can be the pigment in the skin, redness of blood vessels or even bacteria causing acne.  Once the heat energy hits the target, it is absorbed and then damages the tissue, causing destruction and eventual elimination of the target from the skin.  The healing response produces healthy collagen and elastin, and the skin is then restored to its healthy and natural condition.  BBL is a more accurate and specific treatment method compared to IPL. Its superior safety and efficacy in treating patients with darker skin types set it apart from any other pulsed light therapy on the market.  There is a much lower risk of complications and downtime with BBL, and a fewer number of treatments are needed to achieve similar results. BBL is the latest and most advanced technology in light therapy for treating conditions associated with aging and pigmentation irregularities, with little to no downtime and exceptional long term benefits. The most exciting advancement that was introduced with BBL was the treatment of acne.  With a combination of settings, problematic acne can be attacked from a number of angles, giving clients phenomenal and fast results.   However, although the BBL machine is superior, the skill and experience of your clinician is as important as what machine they use.

Recovery after Forever Young BBL™

After treatment, patients leave with a mild red, flushed appearance, which resolves within a few hours. For pigmented skin, the treated pigmented area will darken, fade and then flake off over time, typically within 1 to 2 weeks. Patients also report minimal discomfort with the procedure and there is no recovery or downtime required. Extensive studies and research have proven that regular BBL treatments not only prevent cellular aging but also turn back the clock, causing the DNA expression of skin cells to reverse back to a youthful, healthy state, literally reversing the aging process.  Typically a series of 3-4 treatments spaced several weeks apart are required for full correction, although additional treatments may be required for cases of rosacea and vascular sun damage. All patients benefit from maintenance treatments in the following years.
