How Long Until Results Are Seen for Smoothing Wrinkles?

For wrinkle treatment on the forehead (and “11’s) and around the eyes (“crow’s feet”), both Xeomin® and Botox® both are FDA-approved neurotoxin injections that work at the nerve-muscle interface to relax targeted muscles, helping patients achieve youthful facial rejuvenation without surgery or downtime.  They work differently than other dermal fillers, such as Restylane or Radiesse, which work by filling lost volume. Instead of “filling” wrinkles, Xeomin and Botox relax targeted muscles in affected areas, offering the best wrinkle treatment available for the frown and forehead lines. These treatments target one of the underlying causes of frown lines and crow’s feet—the repeated muscle contractions from frowning and squinting over the years. When muscle activity is reduced you will begin to notice visible smoothing.

Noticeable Results Within One to Seven Days

Quick, safe, and effective – Xeomin and Botox help reduce facial lines and wrinkles with more noticeable results over the course of a week. Most patients report noticeable results within one to two days, especially in the case of moderate to severe lines and wrinkles. Maximum results can be seen from the treatment after two weeks. Results may last for an average of three to four months. Following the procedure, you may experience slight redness and swelling at the injection sites, but this fades quickly and should not interfere with daily activities. The skill of the person injecting your Xeomin or Botox will greatly affect the results and recovery period, which is why it’s so important to find an experienced, highly trained medical practitioner.

Both Botox® and Xeomin® Smooth Wrinkles in the Following Areas:

  • Crow’s Feet Around the Eyes
  • Frown Lines Between the Eyebrows
  • Horizontal Lines Across the Forehead
  • Worry Lines Around the Mouth
  • Lines on the Neck

If you are considering a neurotoxin injection for an upcoming event, Dr. Craig Schwartz recommends having the injection approximately 2-3 weeks before the event to allow for bruising and swelling to diminish and for results to fully emerge.

Kansas City’s Premier XEOMIN® Injection Practice

At Premier Vein & Body, Dr. Schwartz injects all XEOMIN and Botox himself, ensuring beautiful, youthful facial rejuvenation. Not all injection results are created equal, meaning that the skill of the injector will greatly affect the results, which is why it’s so important to find an experienced, highly trained medical practitioner. Any neurotoxin injection, including XEOMIN®, has the possibility to diffuse. For this reason, injectors must be highly trained to prevent the neurotoxin from spreading into unwanted areas.
