How Much Does Laser Lipo Cost?

Almost all of us have pockets of stubborn fat despite our best efforts to remove them. Liposuction remains the most effective way to eliminate this difficult fat, but it can require several weeks for recovery. Laser lipo offers the best of both worlds, removing stubborn fat pockets, but with minimal downtime. Laser lipo is less invasive than traditional liposuction, and it makes an excellent option for anyone looking for body sculpting and shaping.

What is Laser Lipo?

Laser lipo is the shortened name for laser liposuction. At Premier Vein & Body by Schwartz, we offer the FDA-approved ProLipo™ system. This effective method of targeted fat removal allows Dr. Craig Schwartz to sculpt, slim, and contour your figure. Laser lipo works more gently and causes less disruption than traditional liposuction, resulting in faster recovery while still achieving excellent results. As an added benefit, laser lipo also tightens the skin as it removes fat, helping the treated area look smoother and more toned.

How Does Laser Lipo Work?

During laser lipo, Dr. Schwartz makes a tiny incision and inserts a small cannula. The ProLipo™ system sends laser energy into the layer of fat under the skin. The heat energy from the laser liquefies fat cells so the cannula can easily remove them with gentle suction.

Unlike traditional liposuction that breaks up fat manually, laser lipo lets the laser energy do the work for less bruising and swelling. The heat also triggers the collagen fibers in the deep layers of skin to contract, firming the area, so it looks toned and smooth instead of lax and sagging.

How Much Does Laser Lipo Cost?

Predicting the cost of laser lipo is challenging. Your price will depend on the areas you wish to have treated, your location, and the type of laser system used. On average, laser lipo costs $5250. Small areas will cost less than larger or multiple areas. Make sure you choose an experienced surgeon like Dr. Schwartz with proven skills with in-office liposuction.  Results can last a lifetime if patient doesn’t gain additional weight post-procedure.

Am I a Good Candidate for Laser Lipo?

Although laser lipo works best when used on small, stubborn pockets of fat, Dr. Schwartz has certainly helped many patients who have had quite a bit more bulk they desired to eliminate. Results are most noticeable on patients who are within 10-25 pounds of their target weight but have an area where they desire to see greater contour and definition.

Good candidates should have no significant health problems and reasonable expectations about their results. If you are a good candidate for traditional liposuction, laser lipo is also an option.

Where Can Laser Lipo Be Used?

You can have laser lipo almost anywhere on your body that you want to slim and contour. Popular areas for this treatment include:

  • Abdomen
  • Flanks
  • Under the chin
  • Arms
  • Thighs
  • Knees
  • Ankles

The tiny cannula used in laser lipo allows it to work almost anywhere, even in areas where your surgeon cannot use traditional liposuction. If you have questions about whether laser lipo will work in the areas you want to treat, schedule a consultation and find out. There are very few areas of the body where laser lipo cannot be used.

What Results Will I See With Laser Lipo?

You will see some results immediately after treatment. Residual swelling can take a few weeks to resolve, so that you will see your final results after one to three months. The treated area will look slimmer and more toned, and since laser lipo tightens the skin, you will not see the laxity or sagging that can occur with traditional liposuction.

Once removed, fat cells will not grow back, so you can expect to keep your laser lipo results as long as you maintain a consistent weight.

What is Recovery Like From Laser Lipo?

Recovery from laser lipo takes much less time than recovery from traditional liposuction. After laser lipo, you will have much less bruising and swelling than with conventional methods. Most people can return to most of their usual activities in two to four days. Strenuous exercise should wait about three weeks or until Dr. Schwartz approves it.
