How Does Laser Hair Removal Work?
At Premier Vein & Body by Schwartz, located in Kansas City, we use the Sciton Profile laser hair removal system to eradicate unwanted facial and body hair. The system consists of a handheld device that emits pulses of intense, focused energy in two wavelengths.
The dual-wavelength energy works by targeting the pigments in hair follicles. Once absorbed by the hair, the follicle dies off and sheds. Thanks to the dual wavelengths, your laser aesthetician can customize the treatment according to specific skin and hair types.
One fact to keep in mind is that hair grows at different times on the body. As such, laser hair removal can only target follicles in the active growth stage; each client will need several treatment sessions to achieve optimal results.
The Sciton Profile laser hair removal system boasts a computer-controlled scanner, enabling the Sciton Profile laser hair removal system to deliver uniform coverage for a more comfortable and effective treatment experience.
How Long Will My Laser Hair Results Last?
Laser hair removal offers long-term results compared with shaving, waxing, plucking, and other methods. Most people who have laser hair removal notice visibly sparser hair in treated areas after just three treatment sessions.
The majority of laser hair removal patients require six to eight treatment sessions to enjoy optimal results, with each treatment session scheduled around four to six weeks apart.
Hair grows at different lengths, and it’s virtually impossible to remove all unwanted hair from a specific treatment area in just one session. All unwanted hair is typically gone six to eight months from the first treatment session.
From that point, patients that had laser hair removal treatments can enjoy near-permanent results. Laser hair removal doesn’t guarantee permanent results; however, some people find their unwanted hair never grows back.
For those who do experience hair regrowth, the hair that returns is often finer and lighter in color than the hair that was initially there.
