How Long Does Botox® Last?

Predominantly used to treat dynamic facial wrinkles, Botox® is one of the most popular forms of cosmetic treatment. Officially known as Onabotulinumtoxin A, Botox® can be administered to a variety of areas in order to impede the functioning of the muscle. When the muscle is prevented from contracting, it prevents the skin from being pulled and, therefore, stops fine links and wrinkles from forming.

Although Botox® isn’t a permanent solution to prevent the signs of aging, it does provide long-lasting results. What’s more, it’s a minimally invasive treatment that can be carried out at regular intervals, which means the impact of having Botox® can provide long-term anti-aging benefits.

There are now four neurotoxins approved by the FDA for the use of treating facial wrinkles; Botox®, Xeomin, Dysport, and Jeuveau. Of these, Botox® is perhaps the best known and most well-used. How Long Will Botox® Treatments Last?

Botox® can be administered exceptionally quickly and offer relatively long-lasting results. In most cases, patients find that the effects of Botox® last for at least four to six months. Following this, you may want to have the treatment repeated or ‘topped up’. With results apparent just one or two days following the treatment, Botox offers swift results, minimal discomfort, and medium to long-term benefits.

What Does Botox® Treat?

Botox® is used to treat dynamic expression lines, otherwise known as wrinkles and lines that become visible when we move our muscles. When you smile, for example, you may notice a deepening of the fine lines around your eyes. If Botox® is administered to this area, it will prevent the muscles from pulling on the skin when you smile, thus eliminating the appearance of the expression lines or wrinkles.

Botox® can be used to treat wrinkles and fine lines almost anywhere in the facial area. Ideal for targeting crow’s feet, frown lines, horizontal lines across the forehead, worry lines around the mouth, and lines on your neck, Botox® treatments can transform your appearance and achieve impressive results.

In addition to this, Botox® can be used to treat a number of conditions, including migraines, persistent headaches, temporomandibular disorder (TMD), excessive sweating, and chronic back or jaw pain.
